Philosophy and values


CLO Emotional Design is a conceptual and conscious retail brand that places craftsmanship and sustainability at the heart of its values. Is a celebration of the ‘savoir faire’ of Spanish artisan trades combined with cutting-edge international artist collaborations.

The creations include elegant and timeless pieces inspired by modern cosmopolitan women who favor effortless, yet sophisticated clothes, combined with relaxed tailored shapes. CLO’s portfolio incorporates signature designs such as beautiful and versatile resort wear, as well as high-quality winter pieces made mainly in nobel materials such as silk, napa leather and linen, following sustainable processes.

CLO’s emphasis on emotion is enthused by the idea of conscious buying, focusing on quality-based lasting creations that are purchased because of an emotional connection with the piece rather than being driven by the need to consume. As part of their commitment to the Slow Fashion Movement, CLO wants to inspire women to reconsider their shopping habits to help create a more ethical fashion industry that benefits, not only the planet but also all the people behind the manufacturing, as well as our customers.

The oval shape

The oval shape is present in many of our designs; it represents our own Ying and Yang.

The petal extracted from the Flower of Life represents the conjunction between the roundness of its body and the angles and peaks of both its ends. Just as our own creations, it represents the necessary balance between charm and confidence, between our comfort zone and our need to address new dimensions. 


CLO Emotional Design believes in balance, as the basis of sustainability and wellbeing. The balance in the selection of the materials is key and its use should be consistent with the relationship between man and nature.

The choice of leather and shearling stems solely from the leftovers generated from the food industry which are then turned into useful by-products. They are then masterfully tanned and dyed by some of the best leather masters in Spain. Lamb napa is also one of the materials used regularly in CLO’s collections. With a focus on excellent attention to detail and the quality of the finishing touches, this material ensures great comfort and wearability.

Balance is also applied to CLO’s selection of textiles where noble fabrics such as silk are combined with natural fabrics such as linen and cotton, always following the very essential appreciation of balance and sustainability.

Covadonga Rodríguez Quintana is CLO's alma mater, whose inspiring vision recognizes the importance of empowering the talented women who make up her team.


Covadonga was born in Galicia, a region on the northwest of Spain. Before doing a Master in Fashion Business Management in Madrid, she first graduated in International Law and her work in this field took her to live in Brussels and London, where she would always be surrounded by artists and designers. With them she would find her greatest motivation and desire to explore the meaning and journey behind every object that caught her attention: behind a piece silk painted with certain motifs, the impeccable folds of a jacket or an interwoven strip of lace.


That permanent curiosity led her to explore artists’ workshops and to expand further her education in art and creativity in the several cities where she lived. In Buenos Aires in particular she discovered a type of aesthetic that at that time was very innovative in Argentina, which will become the essence of her own creations- the revival of artisan trades as the differentiating element in the design. 


Inspired by the idea of combining the best traditional arts and crafts available in her own country, Spain, with an elegant, current and chic design, Covadonga launched CLO in 2015. From the very beginning her vision emphasized sustainability and the ethics behind the act of buying as essential values of CLO Emotional Design.
